21. Reference — Lookup and Expansion Resources

If the previous 20 chapters are a complete map of how to run Hermes, this one is the place to come back to when you need to dig deeper into what this handbook summarizes, or when you need a specific command and do not want to dig through a long chapter from the beginning again. The five sub-sections below go from the most authoritative origins (21.1) to community-contributed resources (21.2, 21.4), to function-organized catalogs of extensions (21.3), and end with a practical cheat sheet for everyday quick lookup (21.5).

The principle for choosing sources

With a fast-moving project like Hermes — 7 gateway platforms at launch growing to 20+ in just over a year (chapter 5.6) — static documentation goes stale easily. So the principle that runs through this whole chapter: always prefer official sources when there is a conflict; use community sources for real-world examples and application inspiration, not for the core technical truth.
