Ready-made tools — no complex configuration

Image generation from text prompts via FAL.ai, supporting 11 different models (FLUX 2 Klein/Pro, GPT-Image 1.5/2, Nano Banana Pro, Ideogram V3, Recraft V4 Pro, Qwen, Z-Image Turbo, Krea V2…) — pick a model via hermes tools. Since a recent update, image-to-image (editing an existing image) is also supported directly inside the same tool, with no separate command.

Quick activation via Nous Portal

If you don’t want to manage a separate API key for image generation, hermes setup --portal enables all 4 Tool Gateway capabilities (including image generation) with a single OAuth login.

Practical applications

• Illustrations for blog posts/newsletters — generated directly in the same conversation where you are writing the article, so the image stays tightly bound to the content instead of a generic stock photo.
• Editing an existing image (changing the background, adding details) via image-to-image when you need fine-tuning instead of regenerating from scratch.

Notes

• For brands that need a consistent visual style, write the style guide (colors, tone, layout) into a dedicated skill/reference — the same way you build a voice profile for text in chapter 16.2, just for images.
• Check copyright/similarity with existing content before using generated images for commercial purposes — that is the user’s responsibility; image models do not guarantee it on their own.
